How Text Access Search Results Are Returned.
On the search results page, the search terms (including filtering options) are displayed at the top of the page under the heading 'You searched for'.
Text Access automatically runs spell-checking on search terms and suggests alternatives here. If you have misspelled a search term you can select one of the alternatives supplied and re-submit your search by pressing the Go button after the reordering options.
You may reorder the results using the following options:
- Title - set by default
- Author or Creator
- Year Published
To reorder make a selection and Press the Go button. You can also modify your search at this point.
The rest of the page displays a listing of search results.
Results are returned as follows:
- The Title of the record followed by the date published.
- The Author of the record.
- Type/Medium - the media type of the item, for example, Audio - CD.
- A brief summary or abstract of the work.
- Which institution holds or owns the item.
- The Item Status - that is whether the item is Available or On Loan.
- Lastly each record has two links:
- View Summary - which links to a summary of the record
- Request - which links to the request form
At the bottom of the page there are two more links:
- Results On Single Page - this will display all the results on a single page.
- Send Results To Email - this links to a form where you can enter an email address to send the results to.
