Irish Sources for Alternative Formats
- The Text Access Union Catalogue is Ireland's national union catalogue for the print disabled at third level and consists largely of the modified copies that have been produced and collected by the universities and institutes of technology.
- The library of the National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI) holds 11,000 braille titles, 2000 titles on 2-track cassettes, and can provide access to over 7,000 titles on 4-track cassette. They also offer a number of newspaper and magazines on tape. Access to their material is restricted to their members.
- The National Braille Production Centre supplies the primary and secondary educational sector with high quality Braille material for students with a visual impairment. Much of their Leaving Certificate material is relevant to further and higher education students.
- Comhairle Ireland's National Citizens' Advice Bureau. "The agency has a statutory commitment to assist and support people, particularly those with disabilities, in identifying and understanding their needs and options and in accessing their entitlements to social and civil services."
