- Information Access Principles and Guidelines is a document prepared by the European Blind Union and made available over the Internet.
- The National Disability Authority was established to protect and promote the rights of people with disabilities in Ireland. Here you will find useful information and guidelines on all issues of disability, accessibility. Their library holds over 11,000 items covering disability related issues.
- The People with Disabilities in Ireland (PWDI) website is "the umbrella organisation which brings people together locally and nationally to work on common issues that affect all people with disabilities."
- The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education has produced guidelines and a code of practise for the Assurance of Academic Quality and Standards in Higher Education for students with disabilities.
- The DAISY standard - Daisy is an acronym for Digital Accessible Information SYstem, and refers to a widely-adopted standard for the creation of digital audio books. Details of the standard can be found at this site. See also ANSI/NISO Z39.86 which provides specifications for the Digital Talking Book.
- Visually Impaired Computer Society of Ireland - Established by blind and visually impaired computer programmers mainly "to meet the needs of blind and visually-impaired computer users in the area of general computer access".
